Raspberry Pi

Just today, I've put my hands on my first Raspberry Pi. I've read a lot about what it's capable of doing and I've decided to give it a try.

In my mail I got a starter pack consisting of the Raspberry, 8gig SDHC card with preinstalled Raspbian OS, HDMI cable for display connection, Ethernet cable and a miniUSB charger for power supply (the WiFi USB dongle is an extra buy).

My first impression of the mini computer is that it's a great piece of technology. We'll build, very small (I mean really tiny plate with a processor and all necessary connectors). It'll be few hours till I run it for the first time, as unfortunately I don't have any monitor with HDMI interface. Instead, I have to make a journey for an RCA video connector to plug the Berry into my old Sony TV.

I will definitely describe my first impressions, any issues that might come up while configuring the system and, most of all, my progress in developing using Raspberry Pi. First thing I would want to do is to start my own web server for The Unwritten Words. I'd also like to deepen my coding skills.

For the time being, if you're interested in the computer in question, here are some links you might find useful:
